Broughton Growers is helping to rebuild local food economies

We believe that changing the way we produce and distribute food is fundamental to solving the world’s most pressing social and ecological problems.

About Broughton Growers

Nothing beats freshly picked fruit and veg! Our produce is not only delicious, but better for the planet. Our boxes are farm to plate in a matter of hours, not days. With recycled and compostable packaging, there's no need to worry about plastic waste.

Buying local is an investment in community, small-scale food systems may hold the key to how Britain feeds itself. By supporting local, sustainable agriculture, you're helping Broughton's soil stay fertile for years to come and reducing food miles on your weekly shop.

Broughton Growers is a farming collective with sites at both The Anchorage and Broughton Water Buffalo. The Anchorage (previously Broughton Organics) is an established, small scale agro-ecological system, set up to support both food production and biodiversity. Both sites have been managed regeneratively and chemical free, so no need to worry about any nasties!

The Anchorage is home to no-dig beds, low-management small field systems and orchard. Broughton Water Buffalo are at the forefront of regenerative land management. We're pleased to be working along side them to expand production and food security for the community.

Fair prices for farmers and artisan food producers is vital

We pay our suppliers at least 50% of the retail value for any products we buy in, and when dealing with wholesalers, we check to make sure they pay fair prices to their growers.

The benefits of buying local

Local food supports local economies. Food grown in the local community supports local jobs and encourages variety in our diets. It also requires less transportation, so it's fresher and has a smaller environmental footprint.

Fresher food

Reduced food miles

Support local jobs

Respect for the food system

Fewer preservatives

Better value for money

Reduced packaging

The quality of the products is great, includes menus to assist with “lesser known” vegetables. Boxes offer real value for money compared with supermarkets and far better taste. What’s not to like- save the planet, eat better, save money.
